Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, directed by Shazia Iqbal, entered theatres on August 1, 2025. Despite receiving generally positive feedback, the film struggled to maintain momentum at the box office. The first Monday (Day 4) saw a sharp drop in earnings—just ₹1.4 crore net—marking a 66% fall from Sunday’s figures. Total domestic net collection after four days stands at ₹12.8 crore.

Opening collections:

Day 1 (Friday): ₹3.5 Cr

Day 2 (Saturday): ₹3.75 Cr (+7%)

Day 3 (Sunday): ₹4.15 Cr (+10.7%)

Hindi occupancy on Monday was recorded at a low 14.26%, with major metro centres like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and the NCR hovering between 15–18%.

Box Office Clash

  • The film entered a highly competitive weekend dominated by:
  • Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 — ₹27.25 Cr in four days
  • Blockbuster Mahavatar Narsimha
  • Yash Raj’s Saiyaara, still drawing strong crowd and earning higher per show on Monday (₹2.5 Cr) than Dhadak 2

While critically appreciated for its social messaging and performances, Dhadak 2 has underperformed commercially. With its ₹60 Cr budget (including promotions), trade analysts believe it must reach at least ₹60 Cr net to be considered average. So far, it lags far behind peers and even its prequel Dhadak, which collected ₹39 Cr in the same timeline.
